Aplenty..

>> Friday, October 1, 2010

When we transfer from one house to another, it is always a superstition for us to bring rice, water and salt as they symbolize "a state of plenty". In our house, since we own the house as well as the lot, and we do not transfer anymore, we make sure that we have lots of rice, water and salt as they also symbolize the same.
Whenever there is a need to buy a new sack of rice or new refills for the water or for salt, we make sure that the containers are never left empty before the refill. Superstition is that, when you only refill when it is already empty, then worse will happen in your state of economic affairs at home..
My friends who invest in gold coins just laugh and say that superstitions like ours are not recognized for as long as gold is invested upon. Hmm. I think superstitions like ours do have some practical explanations.
