PSEP Convention 2012 Day 1: PM Snack

Our snack is yummy. It is Bohol Tropics' treat that is part of the Boholono culinary tradition...

But I was told that there is a specific Torta in Bohol, but we have yet to discover it..

We discovered that lunched was prepacked, and each had the following in it.
Deep fried pork, Fish with salted beans and Pansit Guisado.
Dessert came in the form of a portion of Maja Blanca..

And of course, CU Iced Tea as our drink..

Fresh Vegetables Juiced..

>> Saturday, November 24, 2012

I got a new juicer and after a long while, we were finally able to use it a week ago. We juiced ginger, carrots and some turnips. More than a kilo of them and here's just what I got.. hahaha..

The nutritious goodness of freshly juiced vegetables..  And the pulp we got?

We placed the pulp as supplement for the plants. My vegetable garden in a pot truly deserves to be treated too.. I just hope they still have enough nutrients for the plants.  Anyway, looking at the orange color of this products, reminds me of the tv stands for flat screens that I saw in Singapore, from my travel there two years ago. They are uniquely orange, and I think they will look good at our apartment.

TGO Skinless Longanissa

Our former neighbor now lives far from us, but she usually drops by the apartment for deliveries of TGO products. Our favorite is the Pork Tapa. But she also gives us other products to try, like this TGO Skinless Longanissa.

For fast cooking breakfast treats, TGO can deliver. But the taste differs per person. Like, for us at home,  the skinless longanissa is not that awesome for us, unlike the TGO Pork Tapa.

It tasted okay though.  Add fried eggs or an omelette, some tomatoes and fried rice, and it's good to go..

Selling T.L.E. Outputs

>> Friday, November 23, 2012

Our students in school sell their products and outputs in their T.L.E. culinary classes. A month ago, I purchased cupcakes from a group of students, and they are actually yummy. The flavors came in Carrot and Malunggay, and both were welcomed with delight by all of us who bought.

I guess our faculty room had been known for buying all T.L.E. outputs that weeks ago, three groups came and sold us deboned Milkfish that was marinated in a vinegar solution, then fried to perfection.

Of all the students that came, this group was the only one I was able to photograph..

Thanks to them, we didn't have to go out to buy viand for lunch, lol.. And the prices were just reasonable..

The Clean Up Drive and Breakfast Part 2

Early this morning, we joined the city mayor's call for a Clean Up Drive. Our school participated, and we cleaned from the inside of the school, all the way to the capitol.

It was a fun activity with my colleagues and friends. After that, we went for breakfast, as sponsored by our department head.

Above was my choice of the breakfast menu.. It was actually part 2 of eating breakfast for me, lol. But I got famished after our activity, so I guess it was just alright..

Craving for Halo-halo

I can'r wait for the summer to start. My sister and I plan to go back to Camiguin, and have some fun. I read at my friend's blog that camps are great, so most probably, we would look for summer camps in the area. I sure would love for the kids to join one. Anyway, I also look forward to eating that halo-halo in Camiguin.. But of course, since it's yet so far, Chocolate Truffles will do.. I wonder if I could still find some at the supermarket..

I could almost taste it now..

That Guitar Cake..

>> Sunday, November 18, 2012

Have you watched any of the episodes of The Cake Boss? I watched one several weeks ago and I was really amazed at one of the guitar cakes that somehow resembled Ibanez at musicians friend. It was pretty creative and the staff that did most of the work was even particular with the intricate designs.

I think she should have helped that contestant they had a few months past, where the guitar cake she made was a total wreck.

Lunch Today: Catered from Xavier University Canteen

Our department head asked us, non-2nd year teachers to volunteer for the recollection of the second year students of our school. So I was there to help out with directing the students to their areas, distributing the snacks of the facilitators and all other minor tasks necessary. Snacks were simple but hearty.

For lunch, we had this Beef Stew with Chop Suey and rice.. The meal pack was placed in a box instead of the usual styro-container. I think that it is truly amazing doing business and at the same time protecting the environment.

Buy and Brew

I want coffee right now. But not just any ordinary coffee. I want brewed coffee. But here at home, I won't be able to enjoy that since I do not have an equipment for brewing coffee. If I have one, I could brew not only coffee, but even beer. Hehehe.. I saw this home brewing equipment at a website somewhere, and quite frankly, I think it's terrific to have one and use it whenever I feel like getting a freshly brewed drink.

In the meantime, I think I can always go and buy bottled brewed drinks, chill them and enjoy them cold.

Pizza, Pasta, Chicken and Vampires

Yesterday was our movie marathon or should I say, Vampire Marathon, my sister and I. We watched five Vampire movies in just one sitting, and when we were about to watch our sixth, we got hungry.

So we ordered delivery from Greenwich... Since we both have our Greenwich Ultimate Greencard, we decided to order a set from one of the coupons we were given prior to getting the greencard. For only four hundred sixty eight, and free delivery, we got three crunchy fried chicken..

I have been craving Lasagna for the past days, so I was very happy to have enjoyed two of the three snack size Lasagna that's included in the set.

Of course, the Hawaiian pizza that came for free in the order.. yum!

We did enjoy the vampire movies on cable, plus our snack to dinner, and even had some for breakfast this morning.. hehehe
