Yesterday, our aunt cooked us this delicious Pork and Red Beans in Coconut Milk. It was very good. I love how everything in the recipe compliments each other.

CDO Bloggers Inc. Year-end Meeting cum Dinner

>> Friday, December 28, 2012

Before the year 2012 ended, our group, CDO Bloggers Inc., had our year-end officers meeting with the core members. We had our usual agendas tackled, as well as the plans for the year 2013. It was short compared to our usual meetings, but it was time well spent. Our president prepared dinner for us, and below were the food we had..

We had Pork Sari-sari, and Pansit from Bagong Lipunan.
And not in photo is a tasty Chicken Inasal. For dessert, we had Bee Hives from one of the bakeshops in the city..
Well, we all went home full of the food we ate, as well as the ideas and plans for 2013.. Thank you Vic for everything.. Oh, and I just learned that the officers will still be serving until 2013.. hmm.. Another challenging year for all of us..

Vegetable Macaroni

My sister left for Manila today. This is the last time she has prepared a vegetable pasta dish. Unlike her Vegetable Spaghetti, this one tastes bad due to t lots of ginger.. The kids were not able to eat all that my father brought to the apartment. It may be because of the spicy taste of the ginger.
I think the dish would have fared better minus the ginger.

Adobong Talong with Egg

My aunt cooked this for us for breakfast.. I never knew it could be tasty.. Yummy! All she did was saute the eggplants, seasoned with vinegar and soy sauce and all other ingredients for Adobo. Then, before she took the dish from the pan, she added one egg.  Voila! Yum-yum..

For a Change..

>> Thursday, December 27, 2012

I think eating different kinds of pork dishes is scary.. Eating too much ham is way too much for me.. whew..  So for lunch, here is what we had. It's potatoes, sweet pea, quail eggs, carrots and chicken..

I do not know what this is called, but I love this dish. I feel lighter eating this.. Although, I had to eat less of the quail eggs.. That is somehow dangerous too.. hehehe

Christmas At My Parents..

>> Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Christmas is usually spent sleeping. That has always been the cycle. We have been staying late during Christmas eve until dawn of Christmas day for so many years. It had only stopped last year, as our house had been one of the many houses that had been hit by Typhoon Sendong last year. There was no point of being merry, although we did prepare for Christmas eve dinner.

Anyway, what we eat on Christmas day is usually left-over food from what we have prepared the night before.. and we usually eat in the afternoon because we usually wake up after noontime. But Christmas this year, is different. We were all early. On our part, we had to be early because we have to travel going to our parents' place. My parents were early because they sent my sister and her children together with her boyfriend for their trip to Kauswagan, Lanao--her boyfriend's place. While waiting for my parents, we went to buy some carrots and turnips for my juicer at wholesale prices at Bulua market. And when we reached their place, we were greeted by their Christmas left-overs. Again, ham.. but this time slices of boneless ham from Oro Ham, and some sauteed shrimps. They had Fruit Salad and Spaghetti, and some other sweets. But I was too sleepy to eat, so we proceeded to our Karaoke singing, alternate with sleeping, my sister and I.

Then we had late lunch, had some Chicken and Seafood Sotanghon, plus Humba..

In the late afternoon, we prepared Siomai. We always make Siomai when we are at our parents.. So it seemed like an ordinary weekend activity on Christmas day..

We had dinner and went home at nine in the evening. We would have stayed but my sister has to attend a wedding tomorrow.

Christmas Day Breakfast..

>> Tuesday, December 25, 2012

What we had for breakfast was a choice of what left-over food we had from last night's Christmas eve dinner.. minus the ham, because there was none left of the Sweet Ham. So this morning, we had Country Style Ham of SLERS, plus all the other food from last night. My choice was a slice of Egg Pie, a little Chicken Macaroni and what's left of my Vegetable Pasta Carbonara..

Christmas lunch and dinner were spent at my parents' house..

Our Simple Christmas Eve Dinner

It was just me, Lili, Sweet and an aunt for Christmas. We didn't go to my parents' because I had lots of orders for my online gig. I had to finish them before it becomes Christmas in the other side of the world.  So yay! I had lots of blessings on Christmas eve here in the Philippines. Although I ordered two boxes of Fruitcake from Chef Chary, the sister of fellow mommy blogger, Mommy Tina, we only managed to eat less than half of one box. It tasted really good. I think I will order from her again next year. P 400 a box is worth the taste.

Anyway, I didn't prepare much because there are just four of us. And Christmas day, we shall proceed to spend Christmas with the rest of the family. I was supposed to buy Boneless Ham from Oro Ham, but during our GAD, people from SLERS sold us their Sweet Ham for only P 200 a box, so I bought one, and served it for our Christmas eve dinner. I have another kind of SLERS ham, but it's for Christmas Day breakfast.

We had Green Apples as Lili love Green Apples, and some Candy Canes..

We also had some Goya Dark Chocolates as well as White Chocolate, plus Apollo Checkers and Pandan Stick Wafers, and bite size Baby Ruth Chocolates. We didn't really eat them all, but we enjoyed munching on them after dinner.

Our simple Egg Pie, one that we always loved.. from Goldilocks.

Seedless Grapes and Keso de Bola..

Of course, our pasta dish, which looks messy, thanks to a Vietnamese brand of Vegetable Pasta which I made into Carbonara.. It's actually yummy! I can brag about it and I can even remake the Carbonara sauce if and when I would like to..

My sister's home made, no-bake Brownies..

Another pasta dish, Chicken Macaroni with lots of cheese and onions..

Of course, add some wine and other drinks... Solved!

After dinner, we had movie marathon, while I continued working online, and some beer for my sister and aunt, and wine for me.. We slept late, but woke up earlier than expected..

Merry Christmas everyone!

A Not So Yummy Lunch!

>> Saturday, December 22, 2012

This was what Budgetel served us for lunch yesterday during our GAD. While I was thrilled and happy with the Suman, Mango and Tsokolate, lunch was rather a nightmare. The rice was not as good, the beef was not as tender as I imagine, and the Bihon was soggy and utterly yucky! And of course, I do not like pineapples so there was really nothing good in the plate..

Good thing we had a little Lechon, courtesy of those who donated them, and paid for their corkage so we all could partake it.

And with the Lechon, came the Halang-halang.

The other Lechon had with it, Dinuguan. But I didn't get any photo of it anymore, as all the three mentioned were taken away from our table, before we could all get some for ourselves.

To cap, lunch was terrible, courtesy of Budgetel and the lady who took the food away. Nevertheless, we all had a great time because we were not really there for the food, but for the bonding with friends and colleagues, as well as all the learning from our sessions..
