Chefy's Food Creations...

>> Wednesday, July 4, 2012

As promised, I am posting here the creations of our soon to be Chef cousin.. starting with the Spaghetti Carbonara

Then this appetizer that I forgot the name of.. hahahaha.  All I know is that, it was good.. It had this tangy, pimiento goodness, that's cheesy and just right for the crisp baguettes..

Another appetizer prepared was this Sweet Spicy Mushroom on the crispy Baguettes.. I also forgot the name of this dish, hehehehe

Then the salad where she used two kinds of Romaine lettuce, and some cubed ripe mangoes, with Caesar salad dressing and   Balsamic vinegar.. It was a glorious refreshing experience.

Then there was the Pork Cordon Bleu that got all of us busy, assisting our cheffy, hehehe.. Some were baked, some were fried..

Then plating....

And of course, eating...

See the cheese as it oozed out of the pork.. Yum! Of course, we had it paired with mashed potatoes.. A heavenly concoction..

Then the next day, she baked Banana Bread..

And Carrot Cake..

All I can say is YUM! Thanks Chef Kyna, till next time..

Chef Ryan C. Rivero's Creations

>> Thursday, June 10, 2010

He is a fellow Atenean, I am sure of this. But I guess our paths never really crossed. I got to know Chef Ryan C. Rivero through a blogpost that fellow CDO Blogger Rosanna Lim wrote. And I was disheartened by what I have read. I got curious and looked for him in FB. I am always confident of finding everything in facebook.

I found out that he is a friend of a lot of friends, lol.. What a small world. So I added him up, and when he confirmed, I saw all the wonderful creations of Chef Ryan. Hmm.. such a big loss for the school that took him lightly..  Of course, I will be featuring him as one of CDO's Food Masters in the series that I have cooked up in this blog. We shall get to know more of Chef Ryan in the posts to come.  For now, let me show you some of his world class creations.

More photos HERE, and HERE. And even more actually. Better yet, add him at FB. If he will accept you, you may get recipes of his delectable dishes.. With the use of the photos above, I asked permission from him to use some of  them in a post or two and I am really happy he is an Atenean.. An Atenean will never hesitate to share to others what he knows..

Before I end this post, allow me to emphasize something. With what happened to Chef Ryan, I was inspired to open this series of getting to know Cagayan de Oro City's Food Masters. It's not just the food that we should be thankful for. We should also be grateful for the hands that have prepared and created them that gave us a gastronomic adventure... And yes, Cagayan de Oro City has lots of them, equally creative and friendly chefs, cooks, foodies-- call them whatever you can, but they share one common name, and that is being a "Kagay-anon"..
Brace yourself as we move along. As I mentioned earlier, we will get to know more about Chef Ryan Rivero in the coming posts, as well as the other Kagay-anon Food Masters..

Cagayan de Oro City Food Masters Series #1

>> Tuesday, June 8, 2010

In the next posts I shall be introducing you guys to the men and women in Cagayan de Oro City who are instrumental to delicious foods and foodies..To top the bill, we have Celebrity Chefs and successful restaurant owners, bakeshop or cake-shop owners, caterers and even your simple manang foodie and manong foodie, who have successfully made it in the food scene in our city..
I will have a separate post for each of them, but for now, let me go ahead and give you a glimpse of some of them.
First on my list is Chef Edgar Dychauco, or simply known as Chef Ed.  Who wouldn't know this celebrity chef? If you are fond of buying and eating baked goodies from Pots and Pans, then you must have seen him already for he owns the place. I love all their sweet stuff there. Loved them since when I was young.. Uhm.. I am still young, but let me not emphasize on the time frame.. hehehe..

Chef Ed has always been on local TV for cooking shows and demos, which I often watch for I always loved to learn about cooking. Apart from television, from time to time you will see him conducting on-site cooking demos, which I appreciate very much, because most of them are free and many people who are interested to learn will really get hands-on information from this very cheerful and creative chef.  I think it's this positive nature of Chef Ed that draws people to love learning from him. HE will never hesitate to answer questions and share his expertise.

And one thing I have noticed is that, Chef Ed  is orderly and neat, whether Chef Ed conducts cooking demos during his television shows or on-site, everything is clean and in proper order-- his ingredients, his demo table as well as his output, and everything else that is used during the set.

I could almost taste his creations now.. Got to end this post here. I am hungry, lol..

If you wanna know more about Chef Ed, as well as the other CDO Food Masters, come back and see what I can share next.

CHEF JACOB BORJA'S GOODIES

>> Monday, November 23, 2009

I came by this dude's page at Facebook one fine day and what caught my attention was his sharing of his own version of the recipe for home made Baked Macaroni and Cheese. And although he did not discuss fully the recipe, he captured everything on cam. The Baked Mac, he used four different cheeses and covered most of the basic ingredients and procedure so his visitors may be able to follow through.

On my next visit, I saw the goodies below:

I found out that he is actually accepting orders and these babies here are samples of orders made by his friends and relatives. The photo above is a Chocolate Cake with fresh strawberries, available for P 350, good for 4-5 persons, while below are Chocolate Moist Cupcakes, also with fresh strawberries which he sells at P 20 pesos for a minimum order of 1 dozen, 3-7 days advance booking.

He is actually using fruits as toppers or edible beads.. Don't mistake that for pellet gun bullets okay... lol..

Another batch of cupcakes, Simple Sponge Cake topped with "rainbow" frosting...

And this caught my eye too... Durian Cheesecake! Ah..

And of course, Strawberry Cheesecake... inside their boxes, ready to meet their rightful owners...

Now this may be far out from the batch, but I have included this to show you guys that Chef Jacob makes ordinary treats look and taste extra ordinary.. Yummy Pancake!

And this sinful treat should not be missed as well.

Oh, and the chocolate moist cake below is topped with boiled icing and fresh strawberries, and you can order it at P 150, including the box. According to Chef Jacob, this creation is recommended for couples who like to heat things up a little bit.. Like tender loving kisses and strawberries and choco moist cake in between? Well, it all depends on you.. But of course, this is also a great gift for moms and dads who still go strong and stronger through the years...

Chef Jacob can be reached through mobile numbers 09162980000. For orders, a 50% down payment is required. For Christmas, the Chef is whipping up a green, gold and red theme for his cakes....
