Paco (wild fern)

>> Saturday, April 16, 2011

When you live in the island where fresh produce abound, I am sure everything is healthy.. And if food eaten is fresh, then it will help make a healthy body..
Above is a variety of fern, locally known as "Paco" that grows only in the mountainous parts of the island as well as in the cool forests... As we all know, Camiguin still boosts of forests and in these forests, lots of wild plants grow, and are eaten by the locals..  They can be found at the market place and sells rather cheaply.. Imagine, a bundle of Paco will cost only P 5.00 and to cook it is rather simple..

All you have to do is saute onions, garlic, meat (pork, beef, chicken or even tuna) and add the Paco heads... add soy sauce, simmer, and taste..Yummy and healthy.. I wonder if one will still be busy reading m5 extreme reviews after knowing the nutritional value of Paco...

My sister sweet loves this so much, she is craving for this every time she thinks of Camiguin..

Foodies from Carcar, Cebu..

>> Friday, April 15, 2011

The first time I tasted foodies from Carcar, Cebu was when we were on our way (and back) to Moalboal, during the community building activity that we had, back when I was working at a contact center in Mandaue City...
I loved the taste of the Bukarilyo (Bucarillo).. Young coconut made into sweet candy.. and with the food coloring used, they are rather very attractive..
Of course, there is also Ampao, rice crispies that is also sweetened and encrusted together. There are also two kinds of Pork Chicharon. One is with the meat, and the other, purely pork fat that is deep fried... All these foodies I mentioned are all yummy. So aside from being the shoe capital of Cebu province, Carcar is also known for these goodies.. A friend of mine told me that the best testosterone supplements can also be found in Carcar.. As to what it is called, I forgot. That was a long time ago, when that information was relayed to me..
