Tita Fannies Grand Launching of Two New Products

>> Saturday, March 31, 2012

Last March 17, 2012 we attended the grand launching of Tita Fannies two new products, namely Halo-halo sa Buko and TFC or Tender Fried Chicken. A week before that, we were invited also to their food tasting and product presentation event and somehow we already got the glimpse and taste of the two products. However, at that time, we were yet brainstorming for the taste and all others related to the product. Everything at that time were yet subject to change.

When we arrived we were given a number, and soon after,  their offerings were served, staring with the Pinoy BBQ. This is actually on their menu for quite some time, and this is actually a hit along with all the other Tita Fannies products.
Then their new offerings...
The Tender Fried Chicken that we had was quite different from how it tasted during the food tasting. The gravy was more appealing at this time, however, the chicken was no longer as flavorful as that time when it was presented during the food tasting. Nevertheless, the gravy plus the chicken is just right, that it is recommended to eat the chicken with the gravy... and never without it.
Then came dessert.. The Halo-halo sa Buko came and wowed us again. Over-all, it was a hearty meal already. So guys, if you are thinking of a summer treat for your family and friends, why not try out Tita Fannies new offerings, especially the Halo Halo sa Buko. It is perfect for the summer heat..

Dulce de Leche

>> Friday, March 30, 2012

Thanks Tom Udasco for allowing me to use this photo. And NO, it is NOT Chef Hassett Go that I wanted this photo for, lol.. It's that can that he is holding. Do you know what that is? Well, some call it Dulce de Leche, while others simply say Caramelized Canned Milk. And both are actually correct, but it is nice to hear Dulce de Leche than the latter, lol..

Anyway, it is very easy to do this. All you have to do is remove the label from the can, place it in a pot and cover with water. Bring it to a boil, and continue boiling for 3-4 hours. Just make sure that the can is completely covered with water at all times, adding water as necessary.

Chef Hassett showed us a cake recipe where Dulce de Leche makes the cake more yummy..  There are many variations on its use and many ways it can be used as topping for cakes, pastries and even ice cream... If I have to choose between playing the guitar, learning about SKB Cases or learning new ways to use Dulce de Leche, I will definitely choose the latter, hehehe.
