Today's Soup

>> Sunday, February 7, 2016

I would love to visit the guitar center today, but I am not feeling well. I have not been okay since yesterday, and last night, came down with a flu. Thanks to my sister and the little lady for taking care of me.

For lunch today, I fancy Fish Sinigang.. But there was no fresh fish available, so we had Pork Soup.. more like Tinolang Pork?? if there is such.. It has Malunggay and Sayote.

Feeling better after lunch.. Time to take my medicine.. and doze off..

Banana Sunday

>> Sunday, January 10, 2016

Because it's year of the monkey, we have come to enjoy Bananas, and I am sure we will have them year round. Hahaha.. See, when we welcomed the new year, we have two bunches of two kinds of Bananas, Saba and Cavendish.  We have eaten most of the Cavendish Bananas, and given some to our friends, but the Saba have not been cooked at one time. We cook them when there are ripe ones ready for our imaginative culinary gut. Like, today, we have two recipes prepared.

I did this Chocolate Bananas again. I have shared this previously here. But to make everything clear, let me just tell you how it was done today.

My sister boiled some Bananas and I took seven of them for my creation. I simply allowed the chuncks of Dark Chocolate melt unto the steaming hot bananas. Allowed the melted chocolate to coat all the bananas, and when they did, it was time to serve them..

My mom loved them for they aren't too sweet.

My baby girl loved them too. But my sister Sweet had other plans. She made this Creamy Bananas with Cream and Milk and they sure are sweet as the maker.

Anyway, everyone enjoyed all the Bananas served.. As for me, I can not help but imagine my Banana Parsley with Peppermint, Basil and Mint Leaves, mixed with my Vanilla Protein breakfast shake.

Oh I was in heaven this morning.. hahahaha..

I think I am gonna have another Banana shake for dinner..

Today's Lunch: Recycled Dishes

>> Saturday, January 2, 2016

Yesterday, we simply reheated what we have prepared for the Media Noche, when we celebrated the coming of the New Year between December 31 and January 1.. We had the usual Lechon and all other dishes..

To make them more exciting, today, we prepared different dishes with the use of old dishes.. Take for example the Saffron Mixed Rice above, which has our Christmas Ham and steamed mixed rice

We also have this Sauteed Bottle Gourd or Upo where my mom used the remaining olives, the Bottle Gourd and Lechon strips. And of course, the remaining ground lean meat, my sister Sweet , transformed it into Lean Meat Sisig, with the Lechon's brain as binder..

Totally new dishes, but used some dishes from what we have prepared on our Media Noche table. Well, happy eating.. more wine please.. hahaha..

Saffron Mixed Rice

This packet of Saffron will expire soon. So we wont forget, we have decided to use this for some dish..

Checked the refrigerator for what ingredient to use, we found some Christmas ham left, so I thought of using them to make our rice exciting..

Of course we need other ingredients and found these in our pantry..

Ahhh.. and some dried Sweet Basil too..

Of course our steamed mixed rice. This is composed of Black Rice and White Rice, previously steamed to perfection.

So first Garlic and Onions were sauteed in Canola Oil. Sweet Basil was added, then Green Peas and Chick Peas added together.

Our diced Christmas Ham was added too.

Then the rice, Paprika and lastly, the Saffron. I decided to use up the entire packet for flavor..

Tadaah.. My Saffron Mixed Rice.. which everyone loved..

We ate this together with my sister's Lean Meat Sisig with Lechon Brain as binder, and my mom's Sauteed Bottle Gourd with Olives and Lechon strips.. Perfect.. gone in seconds, hahaha..

Cheesy Macaroni

>> Saturday, November 28, 2015

As requested, again, by the kids, I cooked their favorite Cheesy Macaroni. It's different from the last time because, this time, I used Angel KremQueso-- cream which is already enriched with cheese.

But of course, true to its namesake, still, I added lots of cheese. The kids love that very much.

Tadah!! And because the kids loved it so much, it's what they for snacks, err.. actually, brunch and what they will have for later.. I have got to save some in an MF's compact refrigerator. Better have more to get when hunger pangs strike..

Rice Cooker Chocolate Cake in Choco Caramel Sauce with Peanuts on Top

>> Saturday, November 7, 2015

I have been hearing reviews and seeing a lot of food blogs about Rice Cooker goodies.. So we set out to create something ourselves. My sister wanted to try the Rice Cooker Chocolate Cake, so she and the kids played with flour, chocolate and all other ingredients.. and placed the batter unto the rice cooker..

It was quite challenging.. when it was done, a part of the cake got messy.. so I told my sister to just cover it with Choco Caramel Sauce..

Of course, I did the sauce on an improvised double boiler..

Spread the sauce on top the cake and set it aside to cool. And the remaining sauce, well... you could just imagine the kids' excitement and chocolate just makes them, and us, lol.. go gaga..

I was out most of the day after that, and when I got home, I was served with Rice Cooker Chocolate Cake in Choco Caramel Sauce with Peanuts on Top..

Tada... Taste test.. yum yum.

Chewy, crunchy, tasty, creamy.. yummy!

Sunday at Home

>> Sunday, October 4, 2015

I love my Tatay's cooking. And this Sauteed Pork and Bamboo Shoots is no exception. It's truly different if it has Tatay's touch in the food we eat. It's always yummy..

This Pan-grilled Fish was done by my sister Honey. The fish is juicy and flavorful.

I just love to indulge in these healthy treats at home. Less the rice to make it so, hahaha..

Happy Sunday everybody...
