Lunch at Eden's Solace, Indahag

>> Tuesday, March 31, 2015

Today we went to Eden's Solace in Indahag. A very nice break from our very busy routine now that we are catching up on paperwork and finalizing documents to submit for clearances. While our forms are lined up for verification, we set off to have lunch in one of the newly developed tourist sites in the city. It was already 12:40 when we left, and we were already hungry so we bought sticky rice to eat. That's Biko and Puto Maya.. just enough to keep us in good shape during the drive.. We were already seeing doubles before this, hehehehe..

The Halang2x was with us so we knew we still have food to eat when we arrive there, hehehe.. The first batch left before 12 noon and they were already eating when they called us to give directions.. They have forgotten about the Halang2x at the table at the office.. Good thing we were divided in batches in going there.. Thanks to Sir Luther and Maam May for the ride going there and back to school..

When we arrived, we saw that the place was heavenly... but we were hungry so we went ahead and had lunch at already 1:45 pm.. What's left of the Lechon.. hehehe

After eating, we explored the place.. Took pictures, laughed.. enjoyed our time while there..

This place is atop a mountain so you can see every part of the city from every direction.. We saw that there were still many amenities being built, and even the restaurant that shall serve food to the tourists is not yet in service at that time. That is why we were able to bring our own food.. By and by, their own resto will operate and people and go there and dine while enjoying the view and the fresh air..

See? That cottage to your left was where we had our lunch.. The one being built at the right is the kitchen.. The main cottage in the middle is supposedly the restaurant area..

What I love most in every cottage is that, lines from my favorite poems are posted in a corner or so.. The owner must be very poetic himself..

After a few hours there, we had to go back to school to finish our work.. It was good that we bonded together as a department..

On our way back, we had to go and take the long and winding road again...

Kids' Lesson on Food Preservation

>> Wednesday, March 4, 2015

The kids' assignment today is to bring 1/4 kilo pork or beef which is thinly sliced for them to participate in the hands-on lesson on food preservation. They are to make pork tocino and beef tapa.

Their teacher taught them by showing to them how it is done, and each student had a chance to do it by themselves too. After mixing the meat to the marinade, a few minutes after, they cooked their preserved meat to taste.

A small portion cooked in school left a bigger portion to take home. So we had pork tocino that Lili and River cooked for dinner. Hmm, I am sure they will stop thinking about blackstar series one now that they are lost in yumminess, hehehe..

And of course, their tocino was to die for.. Great start at such a tender age..
