Manna Packs

>> Saturday, September 15, 2012

Last month, when Manila/Luzon was hit by the flood, we sent a couple of sacks, packages and boxes of clothes, noodles, and some Manna Packs courtesy of friends and members of CDO Bloggers Inc, and of Mindaoan.Com, through the Philippine Air force.

We had to pack them and put names on them so that they will all be handed properly to the contact person in Luzon. While packing we had lots of fun laughing out our neophyte packing skills, as we listened to the calming water fountains indoor.
First thing that was done was line them up for the dogs to sniff them, before they can be allowed to enter the Air Force compound in Lumbia.
Good thing it wasn't only us who had to carry them for the line. The good soldiers helped us carry them in line.

While we were closing our sacks and boxes, I saw these packs called Manna Packs. They are actually combination of rice and soy. On the label, I read that they were packed for goodness and for the healthy benefits of those who will eat them.

Cupcakes from TLE Class

Two students dropped by our faculty room yesterday, and sold us a couple of cupcakes that they made during their TLE class. The cupcakes were still warm and fresh from the oven.
I bought two of the Malunggay Cupcakes and just one Carrot Cupcake since there wasn't anything left anymore but one. I brought them home for Lili and River and Sweet, but I ended up having them for breakfast this morning since the three are with my parents since yesterday.

The cupcakes aren't really to die for, but they are okay. A good start for students to learn the basics of making cupcakes. Maybe one day one of them will have a special recipe and even open up his or her own bakeshop. Who knows?
