FROM MY KITCHEN #6: Linabog na Butong (Chilled Young Coconut in Milk)

>> Thursday, May 26, 2011

After a very long time, I am reviving this meme.. I thought I would completely forget about this but because Mommy Willa of Food Trip Friday encouraged me to revive this meme, then here it is again..

From My Kitchen: The meme that shall allow bloggers everywhere to feature, present and perhaps, brag about their own culinary creations right at their own kitchens.. You need not be a chef to know how to cook, right? So anyone who has cooked a meal, dish or made deserts, baked or grilled whatever comes to mind.. It could be food cooked, baked, mixed, whipped or anything delicious that the participant created.. Pictures and procedures/recipes are valuable share-pieces...

For the meme badge, see codes below:

For my entry this week:  Linabog na Butong (Chilled Young Coconut in Milk)

This is actually common in areas where coconuts abound.. Here in the island, we get fresh young coconuts straight from the tree.. For the Linabog, all you have to do is crack fresh young coconut, and save the coconut water.. Scrape coconut meat and place in a bowl. It doesn't matter how small or big, the scraped meat will be.  Add the coconut water to the bowl of coconut meat, and add condensed milk too. Others add peanuts or cashew nuts to make it crunchier, but plain coconut meat will do. Anyway, when you are done mixing them, chill the mixture. Serve cold..

Do you have anything from your kitchen that you wish to share? Why not join this meme. Do check out its really simple rules..

Jose Rafael Fine Coffee - Davao City

If you are a blogger and loves coffee in Davao City, head on to Jose Rafael, for they do not only give 10% discount to bloggers, they also have free wifi connection for you to stay and blog awhile.. I love how their coffee grinders would ground fresh coffee beans to use in your coffee.. Of course, it's different from our home coffee grinders as they actually use commercial coffee grinders, but mind you, their coffee is not at all commercial-tasting.. I also like the aroma of freshly brewed coffee when you enter their premises.. But most of all, I love how nice their attendants were.

They are not only courteous, they are also offer in-depth information regarding all there is to know about coffee, chocolate and tea..
The place is cozy, suitable for intimate conversations or business. And of course, if you simply want to lounge around, it's nice to stay there too..
Of course, I love their decor.. The coffee blend below was what I ordered. and instead of paying P 130 for it, I paid less.. that's when I discovered that bloggers get 10% discount..
Jose Rafael Fine Coffee serves a variety of coffee blends, hot, cold, or ice-blended, and they use coffee beans from different parts of the world. They also feature local coffee blends, a variety of  tea selections, and chocolate drinks. By the way, their coffee are priced between P 80 to P 200...
