Lollipops from Candylicious..

>> Wednesday, December 29, 2010

When watching movies or playing DVDs on your home theater, what do you usually snack on? Chips? Nuts? Pies? Cakes? Candy? Chocolate? Uhm.. If I name them all one by one, I am sure you will also have a difficulty in answering my query. But for these three kids at home, the answer is easy. Ask Lili and you may hear her say that if mommy allows it, she will eat it. That applies to candies and junk foods. I actually do not limit her to not eating candies, chocolates and junk food. But I do know that when Lili has had enough of the taste, she will decline the offer for seconds. I mean, I do not necessarily tell her it's enough and that she should stop eating. Most times, she would hand to me or my sisters the remaining goodies telling us that she is already okay with a bite or two. A young weight watcher ei? Hmm. I think it is because she has developed this sense of being comfortable with herself and a sense of fullness. Psychologically, when one is made to feel loved, cherished and important, he or she will not need any gratifiers in whatever form. Anyway, I am glad about that..

About the lollipops you see them kids holding and enjoying, well, they are kinda small really. Expensive for a $2.50 each, since it was indeed very small. But you know, the kids did not actually finish their lollies each.. I was told that Lili and River unanimously declined their lollies and told my sister that their teeth needed rest from eating candies.. After which, they both brushed their teeth.. hehehe

Lunch at the Fortunate Restaurant - Food Republic

On their last day in Singapore, my parents and aunts explored Orchard and continued with their shopping spree. By lunch time, we went to the Food Republic in Ngee Ann City and ate at the Fortunate Restaurant. Kinda catchy for a resto name ei? Well, they serve good food. Chinese good to go dishes that are well loved for centuries..

I had this chicken dish that is served in a bamboo tube cum dish. I forgot the name though. But one thing I can say is that it does not only look good, but taste good as well.

My mom ordered the Minced Pork and Century Egg Congee. Well, it was good, just like all congees.. hehehe
My father had this one below. I again forgot the name, but it has "Claypot" as part of its name.. The pork is tender and it's yummy as well.
And this...
Below is what that foodie wrapped in leaves looks like..
My mom got curious upon seeing this thing wrapped in leaves on another patron's table and asked me to order it so we can have a taste of this treat.. All you need to do is peel off the leaves and voila! Great tasting treat pops before your very eyes..

Of course, we added $2.50 for each of our order to have the Mango Pudding for dessert and their most recommended drink..
