Dinner and Movie Night

>> Thursday, November 25, 2010

Tito Noel treated us last night to dinner and a movie-- Harry Potter's latest movie.. the first part of the last Book.  He bought seven tickets for the 9:55 movie at Cine Leisure, then fetched all of us at the Travel Agency, where the rest of our companions were. We headed to the Newton Food Center where we were greeted by food hawkers offering their menu:

What's amazing about food centers here in Singapore is that, they work together as one community where people go to to eat. No food stall sells the same menu, and just one stall serves the drinks. No competition really. It is up to the hawkers to convince us to buy what they sell.

Below were what we ordered for dinner:
Above is Stingray. Spicy and so yummy. It came with a really special sauce and dip.. Below is my favorite of all. Baby Squid, crispy fried,  and sauted in a special sweet and spicy sauce, served with pineapple chunks and cucumber. The combination of the three is really fantastic. I swear, it was really the yummiest ever..
We also had spicy Chicken Wings, and not in photo, shells and omelet.
It was a gastronomic feast in an open space. I love how we were able to casually enjoy our meal, as we wait for the time for the movie.
It sure was a great night, the dinner and the movie. And NO! Tito Noel didn't win in the lottery. He was just happy, and we are happy he was happy for dinner and Harry Potter made our evening worthwhile.. Thanks Tito Noel..

Christmas..

>> Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Christmas is almost here. Almost every mall or office here in Singapore have already put up their Christmas trees. I wonder if employees here also get themselves into payday advance loans in time for teh holidays. I know many of our countrymen do.

Anyway, I hope to bring in as much as I could this December so I may be able to give as much as well. I simply love wrapping presents, but if there are none to wrap, I guess I will simply give out Christmas cards. But even Christmas cards cost a fortune already.

Well,it's always the thought that counts. I am sure it will be appreciated too.
