Happy Valentines Day!

>> Sunday, February 14, 2016

Slept late last night so woke up late.. The main reason is this..

I am quite interested in the many different plants that can help keep us healthy, as well as heal specific ailments and diseases. So upon waking up, this was what I was embracing, hahahaha.. so much for Valentines day, eh? Kidding aside, I have the perfect Valentine with me, for ten, running eleven years now, so it's not a cold and gloomy Valentine here on my end..

Kept reading and had Ensaymada before going down to lunch..

Pan fried and broiled fish greeted me on the table.. Fresh fishes to fill the belly on Valentines day, thanks to my mother for preparing them.. Cooking a special dinner later..

Onion Rings

>> Sunday, February 7, 2016

So I am feeling under the weather, but I opted to get up and make something while I am still feeling better than last night. My medication's up until three hours after so I think i should still be okay and move, to sweat out fever and flu.

Last week, I bought a huge Onion but was not able to do anything about it because I was really busy. So today, I decided to make Onion Rings..

Peeled the Onion, sliced and removed each from its enclave. Prepared the flour with ground Pepper, Paprika, Cinnamon, Lemon powder, salt and all other ingredients..

I also prepared 3 eggs, whisked it with salt and pepper and my batter is ready..

Simply dip each slice of onion in the whisked eggs and unto the flour mixture, then to the eggs again and to the flour again.. twice or thrice should be good, before putting each of them to the heated oil.

Do not over cook or they will burn..

And the finished product is to die for.. Prepared the dressing of mayo and ketchup, and ohhlala.. Yumminess to the Nth level! Burp!

Today's Soup

I would love to visit the guitar center today, but I am not feeling well. I have not been okay since yesterday, and last night, came down with a flu. Thanks to my sister and the little lady for taking care of me.

For lunch today, I fancy Fish Sinigang.. But there was no fresh fish available, so we had Pork Soup.. more like Tinolang Pork?? if there is such.. It has Malunggay and Sayote.

Feeling better after lunch.. Time to take my medicine.. and doze off..

What to do with Carrots, String Beans and Pork? We have yet to replenish our pantry and we had the three main ingredients to cook with. We were thinking of Kare-kare, but since the ingredients were limited, we ended up with this dish..

Tastes like Kare kare, but not Kare kare, hehehe.. Still oh so yummy. Thank you Sweetie for cooking.. Lunch was yummy.. burp..

A rich and flavorful Spaghetti sauce, ready for the taking.. Add the pasta...

Banana Sunday

Because it's year of the monkey, we have come to enjoy Bananas, and I am sure we will have them year round. Hahaha.. See, when we welcomed the new year, we have two bunches of two kinds of Bananas, Saba and Cavendish.  We have eaten most of the Cavendish Bananas, and given some to our friends, but the Saba have not been cooked at one time. We cook them when there are ripe ones ready for our imaginative culinary gut. Like, today, we have two recipes prepared.

I did this Chocolate Bananas again. I have shared this previously here. But to make everything clear, let me just tell you how it was done today.

My sister boiled some Bananas and I took seven of them for my creation. I simply allowed the chuncks of Dark Chocolate melt unto the steaming hot bananas. Allowed the melted chocolate to coat all the bananas, and when they did, it was time to serve them..

My mom loved them for they aren't too sweet.

My baby girl loved them too. But my sister Sweet had other plans. She made this Creamy Bananas with Cream and Milk and they sure are sweet as the maker.

Anyway, everyone enjoyed all the Bananas served.. As for me, I can not help but imagine my Banana Parsley with Peppermint, Basil and Mint Leaves, mixed with my Vanilla Protein breakfast shake.

Oh I was in heaven this morning.. hahahaha..

I think I am gonna have another Banana shake for dinner..

Home Made Pizza

>> Sunday, December 20, 2015

A few days ago, at the grocery, we found this..

Last Friday, I ordered our favorite Longganisa from Maam Bebs.. and so it's one of the toppings to today's home made pizza..

Forgot to buy the cheese, but since we had some at our store, so it's solved..

And thanks to Del Monte's Quick n Easy Pizza sauce, the sauce wasn't difficult to concoct.. But of course, making our own would also be good.. This one just saves us time..

Would you believe we cooked this on top the stove, on a griddle? And minutes later, inside a Turbo Broiler? hahaha.. Yup, we did..

Ready to slice.. yumm..

Dinner is served.. it's not burnt, the cheese just wasn't the quick melt type..
